March 12, 2006 Site update: New resin "Conquest II" Tibbi Searcher Equine artist As a child, Tibbi Searcher decided to
become an artist. She has been drawing and sculpting ever since. She is
a self taught artist. She cast her first bronze sculpture "Day
Dreamers" in 1991. She has since produced over 30 bronze sculpture with
subjects varying from horses and zebras to dogs and cats.
Tibbi has done commissioned art work for several clients including Lockheed-Martin's "Skunk Works", and Washington State University. Tibbi Searcher grew up in Joseph, a small logging and ranching town in north eastern Oregon. Horses are her favorite subject and are an big part of her life. She has owned and ridden horses since she was a teenager. The money she earned from the first job she ever had (working in the potato harvest) went toward buying her first horse, Ember, who she still has today. Tibbi is also a student of natural horsemanship. She finds the more she learns about how horses think the better able she is to sculpt them. There is more to a horse than four legs. He's a living breathing, creature who thinks and feels and responds to life and Tibbi strives to put this into every sculpture. When Tibbi sculpts a horse she captures how he felt in that instant. You can read his emotions in the flick of an ear and the flare of a nostril. A Searcher bronze lets you to feel the warm sun on a sleepy afternoon or sense the power of movement. Every line in the sculpture builds like stanzas in a poem to tell a story about a fleeting moment in time... Tibbi loves to sculpt, and she is constantly challenging herself to reach farther, to see more in her subjects. She is a serious equine artist with a deep appreciation for all equines from the arabian to the tarpon. Her work has sold to collectors from all over the US as well as internationally. Her work can be seen at the Valley Bronze galleries in Astoria and Joseph, Oregon. Tibbi now lives in Joseph, Oregon with her husband and their young daughter. They have two dogs, and two horses. © 2006 Searcher-bronze.com Tibbi Searcher P.O.
